Kanton Zürich, b2lab, Procivis and BotLabs defined the challenges to tackle in order to establish trust and secured standards around public services. It’s all about how to bring trust in eGovernment, solve the current issues around e-voting and establish an ecosystem where information between governmental bodies and other stakeholders is shared securely and transparently.

The digital age and the opening of markets has had profound effects on the mobility of individuals as well as on their expectations concerning efficient and transparent processes. While the past years have seen significant efforts in the area of eGovernment, public services still lack powerful solutions for many of the new challenges.

Everyone agrees that centralized public registries need protection: Official documents and credentials need to be tamper-proof and easily verifiable. An integrated ecosystem could ease the individual citizen’s burden of aggregating and sharing their personal information with governmental bodies and other stakeholders, such as employers or banks.

To solve the current issues around e-voting, we need trusted and secure standards. This will establish a new era between governments and individuals. Furthermore, we need an application on which governmental bodies can register official documents and where individuals owning such a document can verify proof of ownership and its authenticity. Finally, institutions should be able to give their own representatives the temporary right to make federated official signatures. How would you solve these problems?

We hope you are prepared and ready to build the future of public service together with us. We need a lot of bright minds and able hands to make it happen!
