Written by #SBHACK2019 | Apr 29, 2019 10:00:00 PM

From the 21 – 23 June, 2019, you’ll be able to hack for 3 days alongside 200+ hackers, 20+ Blockchain startups, and global, corporate, and academic partners for a chance to win exciting prizes. Want to participate? We are excited to announce that registration for the upcoming #SBHACK19 is now open!

Registration will be open until May 24th, 2019 at 11:59 PM.

Before you get started, we wanted to give you a quick step-by-step guide on how to register that’ll hopefully answer all your registration questions.

Step 1: The Website

Go to this link. This will bring you to a logon page. Once you’re there, type in your email and password. If you’re not yet registered, this also substitutes as the beginning of your registration. Once you’ve typed in your email and password, the registration button will be highlighted and you can click through to the next step.

Step 2: Verify Your Email

Once you’ve moved on to this step, you will be taken to a landing page that reminds you to verify your email. Your status will remain unverified until you do so.

Log in to your email account, open the email from hackathon@trustsquare.ch (make sure to check your spam folder if it’s not there!) and click to confirm your email registration. Another window will open and will take you to your dashboard that confirms your verification.

Step 3: Getting to Your Application

On the email verification confirmation page, there is a button that says “Go to Your Dashboard.” Click through and you will see that your application status is incomplete. To rectify this, click “Finish Your Application.” This will take you to the application form.

Step 4: Filling Out Your Application

Fill out all the questions on the application form. Required answers are marked with a red asterix. Fill out your name, gender, occupation, employment status, and age.

Then, tell us in a few sentences why you’d like to participate in the #SBHACK19. Tell us why you’re passionate about hacking, what your motivation for participating is, and why you’d be a great participant. This will help in the acceptance of your application.

Afterwards, scroll down and click two Verticals that you’d like to participate in. These categories range from Agriculture & Food to Supply Chain. Once you’ve picked two, another list will appear that will allow you to pick from a variety of Skills. Pick the ones that you most plan to use during the event.

Then, tell us your personal public repository. Please provide at least one link to a repository that you use (e.g. Github, Gitlab, or Bitbucket). If you don’t have a repository, you can just add any valid URL that you think we should check during the selection process.

Finally, fill in your social media links if you have them and accept the terms and conditions.

Press Submit. Your application has been sent! You will also receive a confirmation email.

You can edit your application at any time on your dashboard. However, once registration has been closed, you can no longer make changes. Read through to ensure that there are no mistakes.

Step 5: Join The Hackathon Slack

Once your application is done, join our Hackathon slack so you stay to date before and during the event. This will be our main source of communication, so you’ll want to sign up as soon as possible. Once you click through, you’ll be taken to a page that prompts you to verify your email. Once you’ve verified your email, click the link you receive which will take you to an account creation page. Make an account and then you will be officially signed in to the slack.

Step 6: Create or Join a Team

We will prefer teams in the selection process – so make sure you create or join one to enhance your odds.

You can do on your dashboard by clicking the button that reads “Create or Join A Team.” You will then be taken to another page, where you can join already created teams or create your own. You can remove your team at any time.

Note: If you create your own team, you will be assigned as team captain and be made Admin of the team.

You are alone? Or an incomplete team? Then shout out in the slack channel #thegathering what you are looking for or what you are bringing to the table. We prefer to have complete teams of five with broad skillsets. And we value diversity even more. Therefore, a special prize for the best diverse team will be awarded. Stay tuned for more info about the prizes!
